What is the LinkedIn post counter for?
LinkedIn’s help guidance limits a standard post to 3,000 characters. This browser-local checker measures a post draft so you can reserve space for a hook, paragraphs and a CTA without accessing your LinkedIn account.
How the 3,000-character post limit is counted
Unicode grapheme clusters prevent a joined emoji from being split. 2,700–2,999 is close and 3,000 is at the limit. It measures ordinary post text only, not separate rules for articles, ads or account features.
Example
Paste a professional post with short paragraphs, bullets and 📌. At 2,830 characters, the close indicator gives you a chance to turn secondary background into a comment or longer article.
How to use
- Enter the LinkedIn post draft and paragraph breaks.
- Read the live character total and 3,000-character status.
- Copy the summary or reset the draft before publishing on LinkedIn.
