Calculate influencer CPM
What does influencer CPM compare?
Influencer CPM turns a partnership quote into cost per 1,000 expected views. It gives proposals with different fees and projected reach a common comparison point, but it is an estimate rather than a promise of sales, audience fit, or brand lift.
Influencer CPM formula
Influencer CPM = creator quote ÷ expected views × 1,000. Expected views must be greater than zero. A zero quote is allowed for gifted, exchanged or unpaid collaborations.
Worked influencer CPM example
A $5,000 quote and 125,000 expected views produces a $40 CPM. A lower CPM from another creator is not automatically better if that creator reaches the wrong audience or produces weaker content.
How to use
- Enter the full cash-equivalent quote for one creator partnership.
- Use an expected view total based on comparable recent content, not follower count.
- Compare CPM alongside audience fit, engagement quality and conversion evidence before committing spend.
Frequently asked questions
Is the lowest influencer CPM always the best deal?
No. CPM does not capture audience relevance, content quality, brand safety, engagement depth or downstream sales performance.
Can I use follower count as expected views?
No. Followers are not views. Use the median or a conservative estimate from recent, comparable posts whenever possible.
What should the quote include?
Use a consistent total: fee, product cost, production, usage rights and platform charges if those are part of the partnership cost you want to compare.
