What does an image resizer do?

An image resizer redraws an image at a chosen width and height for social posts, product listings or web assets. Aspect-ratio lock changes the other dimension automatically to preserve the source image's proportions.

Sizing and aspect-ratio logic

With aspect lock, target height = target width × source height ÷ source width; the inverse applies when editing height. The browser redraws the source with Canvas at the requested pixel dimensions, capped at 40 million output pixels.

Product-image example

For a 2400 × 1600 product photo, entering a locked width of 1200 automatically gives a height of 800. That keeps the image proportional while reducing the number of pixels a web page needs to load.

How to use

  1. Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image and review its original dimensions.
  2. Enter a target width and height; keep aspect lock enabled to prevent distortion.
  3. Choose an output format, process the image and download the result after checking its dimensions.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the other value change when aspect lock is on?

The tool calculates the matching edge from the source ratio so people and products are not stretched.

Can I enlarge a very small image?

Yes, but enlargement cannot create missing detail, so the result may look soft. Start with the highest-resolution original available.

Which output format should I choose?

PNG suits transparency and sharp graphics; JPG is commonly better for photographs and smaller files. WebP support depends on where you publish it.
