What does a PNG to JPG converter do?

A PNG to JPG converter changes an image that does not need transparency into a common photographic format for ecommerce, email or services that do not accept PNG. JPG has no transparency, so transparent pixels become white.

How conversion works

The browser decodes the PNG and redraws it on a same-size Canvas. Because JPG has no alpha channel, the tool fills the canvas white before exporting an image/jpeg Blob.

White-background product image

If a brand supplies a transparent PNG product image but an ad platform requests JPG, convert it to a white-background JPG and inspect shadows and edges before uploading the creative.

How to use

  1. Choose a PNG image.
  2. Convert it; the browser re-encodes it as JPG on a white background.
  3. Check the dimensions and download the JPG file.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to transparent areas?

JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent pixels are filled white before export to avoid an unexpected black background.

Will the JPG always be smaller?

Not always. Photographs often shrink with JPG compression, while flat graphics, text or an already optimized PNG can produce different results.

Is the original PNG replaced?

No. The tool creates a new download and does not modify or upload the selected original file.
