What is a UTM builder?
UTM parameters are campaign labels appended to a destination URL. Analytics platforms use them to attribute visits to a source, medium and campaign. This browser-based builder follows native URL rules for links used in email, social media, ads and creator partnerships.
How the URL is assembled
The builder preserves non-UTM query parameters and the URL hash, removes old or duplicate UTM keys, then adds source, medium and campaign in a stable order. Blank term and content values are omitted.
Newsletter example
For https://example.com/sale, use newsletter as the source, email as the medium and summer sale as the campaign to generate a complete link with the three core UTM parameters.
How to use
- Enter a complete destination URL beginning with http or https.
- Add the required source, medium and campaign name; term and content are optional.
- Build and copy the URL, then open it once to verify the destination before publishing.
Frequently asked questions
Which UTM fields are required?
Source, medium and campaign are required so the link remains useful in campaign reports. Term and content are optional.
What happens to existing URL parameters?
Ordinary parameters and the hash remain intact. Existing UTM keys are replaced by the values entered here.
Are spaces and non-Latin characters supported?
Yes. Native URL encoding safely represents spaces, Chinese characters and other Unicode text in the generated link.
